"100 Miles" Days 4 & 5 BIKING FOR INCLUSION

Luke has hit 17.2 miles 5 days into June! YES! He is on track to ride his 100 miles. Yesterday was his longest ride at 4 miles. We planned to stop at 3.5 but he asked for more, so he rode another half mile. GO LUKE!  Luke is riding with an amazing group Ainsley's Angels. Seriously the best group of people I have ever met. The group's mission is to build awareness about America's special needs community through inclusion in all aspects in life. He is riding for inclusion, inclusion in endurance sports, at school, in the community, everywhere.  Luke...

"100 Miles" Day 3: A Hot Day & a Little Help

By San Deigo standards, today was a scorcher! It had to be in the 80s during Luke's ride and his little body is not used to riding in the heat. I'm just happy that he didn't melt! He stayed hydrated and took another long nap this afternoon. All is good! Today, Everett joined us for the last mile of the ride. He loves jumping on the back of Luke's bike for the downhill ride. "100 Miles" Day 2: A Solid Ride & a Well Deserved Nap

We didn't make it out until almost 10:30 this morning, so it was HOT! Luke loves biking around our neighborhood, seeing familiar faces, 4 legged friends and making new acquaintances along the way. Luke's greets everyone he sees with Good Morning. If someone happens to be wearing Aippods or just doesn't respond, he shouts them out...GOOD MORNING, he will not be ignored. It's hilarious.  Luke nodded off at 1:30 for an afternoon nap, didn't wake up until 3:30. That's what 3.5 miles does to him. When he finally woke up, the first thing out of his mouth was "where's dinner"....

June Bike Challenge "100 Miles" DAY 1!

He did it! Luke rocked 3.4 miles of his challenge on day 1. He is on track for 100, only 29 days to go:) We put on our Ainsley Angels gear at 9am and didn't look back. Even Sonny, Luke's best 4-legged friend, came along for a couple miles. That little guy has endurance! Man, even I was hot and tired. But true to how he lives his life, Luke did not complain.  Luke has 2 marines running on his Ainsley Angel's team, what a privilge! One of them had a quote today that stuck with me and is aligned...
